Where did your domain name come from?
Surprisingly, it’s fairly common for people (who don’t know that gyrate is an actual English word) to mistakenly assume it’s my last name. Well, I’d like to say that there’s an interesting story behind it, but there really isn’t. It’s just a random thing that a friend suggested as a screen name one day. It had absolutely no significance whatsoever, but I thought it was funny for some reason, so I started using it when I got my first computer. As you can see, I haven’t given it up yet.
What’s that kiddie porn page all about?
That’s a page from my first website (which I’m pretty sure was a Geocities page) from around 1997 or so. For several years, it showed up in the first page of search results for every major search engine (including Google) when searching for “kiddie porn.” I actually used to get threatening phone calls and emails about it from concerned citizens all over the world. I keep it around partially for nostalgic reasons, and partially because I’m still immature enough to find that sort of thing funny. Don’t have me arrested please. ;-)
What happened to the old multimedia section with all the skate videos and stuff?
When I decided to start hosting my site on my home DSL connection, I basically traded the bandwidth I had for full control over my webserver. You can find some of those videos on YouTube now.
